Title: Career and Employment Advisor

Bachelor of Arts
Diploma in Recreation Management - Programming

Program responsibilities:
• Career and employment advising
• Workshop delivery

• InterAgency Meetings

First job I ever had:
I grew up on a farm and loved to be outside with my brothers and dad.  I enjoyed picking rock, moving pipes and hoeing acres of beans.  My first “paid” job was “potty patrol” for Parks Canada in Waterton.  Cleaning up after tourists can be “icky” at times, but I had way too much fun and met people from all over the world.  The first summer I lived on scrambled eggs and rice, I didn’t know how to cook a thing.

Top tip for youth searching for a job: always go in person and by yourself.  Believe in the power of the first impression!!!  Try new responsibilities and new employers...

What I thought I would be when I grew up: a teacher

Top tip for career decision making:
Understand what a career is....YOUR career is everything that you do....you are in your career RIGHT NOW...every job, every class you take, volunteering, student clubs, committees,  and art, drama, music and sports we play....etc etc
YOUR JOB IS NOT YOUR CAREER!!!

A job that I would love to “test drive” would be…..A rock star

One “thing” I am most proud of is……My ability to handle the ups and downs

One thing most people don’t know about me…….
I drive really cautiously and slow......I am very “loud” and outgoing and most people assume that the photo radar machine loves me....

Things I like to do in my spare time are: anything outside, hockey, any sports, taking classes, cooking and theatre

The one person I would love to have lunch with is…..my grandpa.  I would love to meet the man everyone talks about.
