| Our History |
|
In 1960, the Medicine Hat YMCA was a traditional health and recreation facility only. In the late 1980s the YMCA was more involved with camping, education, childcare, and other areas beyond health and recreation. Today, the Medicine Hat Family has evolved into an organization that provides numerous programs and services for people of all ages and abilities within our community. Including the Downtown location, there are 6 physical buildings the YMCA operates programs and services: Downtown, South Ridge Health and Recreation, John Millar Day Care, Crescent Heights Day Care, YMCA YouthWORKS and YMCA Camp Elkwater. Each year, thousands of Hatters are involved in the YMCA through health, fitness, and recreation programs, youth leadership, childcare, Youth & Adult education, Day Camps and Residential camping. |
