Update: May 14 It is exactly 1 month from the YMCA Strong Kids 3rd Annual Charity Golf Tourney at Desert Blume June 14. Register your team of four by going to http://www.eventsonline.ca/events/ymca_strongkidsgolf/ Update: May 14 Loblaw Companies, One of Canada’s largest national retail grocers has been supporting YMCA Strong Kids in our more than 1,000 communities throughout Canada since 2008. Loblaw’s support assists YMCAs across the country with membership subsidies for children. This significant annual support enables the participation of more than 1,000 children to benefit annually from a full year membership at their local YMCA. For the past three years Zehrs, a Loblaw Companies banner stores, has been supporting sending children to YMCA Day Camp through their Give a Little, Help a Lot point of sale campaign held each year in June throughout parts of southern Ontario. Over 1,500 children have had a fun filled camp experience thanks to this program. Many of our YMCAs across the country partner with their local Loblaw banner stores in support of local children, teens and young adults. We are grateful to such Loblaw banner stores as: No Frills, Save Easy, Independent Grocers, Fortinos, valu-mart and Real Canadian Superstore. Update: April A big thank you goes out to three outstanding groups. First Investors Group and Tyler Davidson for their generous donation of $2000.00 towards the Strong Kids Campaign. ABOUT YMCA STRONG KIDS The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is a collaboration of YMCAs across Canada, and is focused on raising much needed financial support for children, teens, and families who are unable to afford the full cost of participation in a YMCA program or activity in our community. Locally, this annual campaign encourages the public and friends of the YMCA to invest in YMCA programs to help provide more opportunities for children from high need areas of our communities, families facing financial barriers, and Canadian newcomers, to participate in and benefit from YMCA programs.
